The Concordia Fire Department is seeking to fill the position of full-time Firefighter/EMT, or Paramedic. This position performs specialized work in the prevention and suppression of fires and provides life-saving services to the sick and injured.
Starting wage $14.55 per hour, negotiable with experience. Wage is based on 2756 hours per year. Employee will receive step increases upon certification as AEMT or Paramedic. Employee will work nine 24-hour shifts per month, with a rotation of ten shift months. Requirements: Be at least 18 years of age, equivalent of a high school diploma, no criminal convictions, and background check. The City of Concordia will train, but current certifications will be given preference.

LAB TECH- WASTE WATER TREATMENT PLANT

The City of Concordia Utility Department is seeking to fill the position of full-time Lab Tech. Some essential duties of this challenging position include operating and maintaining equipment at the treatment plant and collecting wastewater and biosolids samples for daily lab reports and analysis.
Minimum requirements: Possess, or be able to obtain a valid Class C Kansas Drivers License and valid Commercial Drives License; the ability to possess KDHE Wastewater Treatment Facility Operator Certification at the Class III Level required within two (2) years of employment.

Assist in the maintenance or construction of streets, alleys, storm sewers and traffic control devices, operate dump trucks and snow plow equipment, perform manual labor on projects and maintenance duties, may assist maintenance technician on repairs to department vehicles and equipment. Operates other equipment as needed. Possess or be able to obtain a valid Commercial Drivers License within one (1) year, and have an established personal driving history that is acceptable for coverage by the City’s insurance carrier.
